On Saturday, January 6th, we celebrated the release of annual calendar at LOT 1701, and announced the 2018 Beard of the Year Winner Greg Tillery! NOIR: A Masquerade Ball

On November 4th, we partnered up with The O.G. Theory to host our first Annual All Black Masquerade Ball  and celebrate our 3rd Anniversary out in Brooklyn! Coming from a city that celebrates Mardi Gras every year, we decided to bring it up North and curate some dope ass vibes. Surrounded by black excellence, decked out in gowns and tuxes, we partied the night away into the wee hours, danced, drank and had a great time! Check out some of the images from the event below!

BMWB + Sephora Men's Only Event

We partnered with Sephora French Quarter this past Tuesday, offering free facials, light bites and a raffle prize filled with men's grooming and facial products (worth over $250!).

Bike life has really taken a life of its own and grown into a culture in New Orleans thanks to two young black bearded entrepreneurs, Nick and Blake,  co-owners of Get Up N Ride NOLA. We couldn't wait for the chance to partner up, and Essence Fest was the perfect opportunity! Dressed in all white, BMWB supporters sipped on our signature rum infused Beard Juice (also dubbed The BJ), guided by Nick and took to the streets of Downtown New Orleans on glowing pedal bikes jammed out! We Dat's Chicken and Shrimp - NBA All Star Weekend

Greg Tillery, the New Orleans 7th ward native and Tuskegee graduate, is a shining example of hard work and perseverance. His story is truly remarkable as to all the adversity and hard times he has endured while making his dream a reality. Greg is the owner and operator of the now We Dat's Chicken and Shrimp Restaurant, the only black owned restaurant on the historically famous Canal St. in New Orleans that started out as a food truck. Currently, a second location is set to open its doors in just a couple of weeks during Essence Music Festival 2017 in the graceful neighborhood of Gentilly. If you've ever had the chance to patronize We Dat's, you've for sure encountered Greg's warming nature, infectious smile and that above and beyond customer service!

Black Men With Beards sponsored an interactive fun and engaging wine tasting experience, led by industry expert Robert Haynes with sounds by T-Ray the Violinist & live painting by AK the Artist. Aimed to give you a deeper appreciation of classic, prestigious wines from various regions, all while diving glass deep into the mysteries and myths of wine tasting and food pairing.

Tasting Tuesday's 3 Part Series included:

  • Wine making & Tasting 101
  • A Taste of the New World: USA and Southern Hemisphere
  • A Taste of the Old World: Europe and Beyond

We learned about the wine making process, ordering, bottle opening and everyone's favorite part - TASTING of course! The pallet was privy to 6 different wine selections of unique and intense flavors from around the world, along with the proper food selection for each.

Our host Robert Haynes just finished harvest at Siduri, an artisan winery in Sonoma County, California, where he further developed his wine making skills. Haynes is a real wine educator with years of experience. He teaches for beginners and the advanced wine lovers.
Haynes passed the Introductory Court of Masters Sommelier exam and is currently studying for his certification. Haynes is currently enrolled into the University of California - Davis' Wine making program and is expected to graduate in 2018.

BMWB 2017 Calendar Shoot - New York (10/29/16)

BMWB flew out to New York for the first time and teamed up with some amazing individuals, Wil Allen of B.A.B.E of BrooklynChaunna Henry, an amazing photographer in New York (seriously y'all, she is super dope, check out her work), and a group of beautifully bearded black men to create the first Black Men With Beards Calendar! Surrounded by Black Excellence, we had a great time in the studio, talked about life, laughed, had a few beers and took some amazing photos! Check out some of the behind the scenes photos!

Crawfish & Chill - New Orleans (3.26.17)

Black Men With Beards partnered up with Equl Media and Chef Jai for a pre-summer series, "Crawfish and Chill" in NOLA. Guests were invited to a private location where dope vibes were curated, the best crawfish in town was had, and The Misbelief Punch was served.
